Residential service
Lighting and ceiling fan installation in Houston
We install and replace light fixtures, recessed lighting, outdoor lighting and ceiling fans, including the wiring and switches behind them.

What this service covers
Lighting work ranges from swapping one fixture to adding recessed lights across a room where there was no wiring before. Ceiling fan work includes replacing an existing fan, or adding one where there is only a light or nothing at all.
The part you do not see matters most. A ceiling fan needs an electrical box rated to carry its weight and movement, and new lights need to go on a circuit that can carry them. We handle both.
Common reasons to call
- A room is too dark, or lit by a single fixture.
- You want recessed LED lighting in a kitchen, living room or hallway.
- A fan wobbles, hums, or was hung on a box that was not made for it.
- You want a fan where there is only a light fixture today.
- Outdoor, porch or security lights are missing or no longer work.
- You want dimmers or separate switches for the fan and the light.

Estimate
You get a written price that covers the wiring, boxes, switches and installation.
Installation
We run any new wiring through the attic, set fan-rated boxes where needed, and install and balance the fixtures.
Test and clean up
We test every switch and dimmer, and leave the room clean.
How long it takes
Replacing a fixture or a fan on existing wiring typically takes about an hour each. Adding recessed lights or a fan where there is no wiring usually takes from half a day to a full day, depending on attic access.
Permits and inspections
Replacing a fixture or fan on existing wiring is usually considered a repair. Adding new circuits or new wiring can require a permit. We tell you which applies to your job.
What affects the price
The fixture is the small part. The price depends on:
- Whether wiring already exists at that location.
- Ceiling height and attic access.
- The number of fixtures or fans.
- Whether a fan-rated box or bracing has to be added.
- Dimmers, smart switches and separate controls.
- Whether you supply the fixtures or we do.
Frequently asked questions
Can you install a ceiling fan where there is only a light?
Yes. We replace the box with one rated for a fan and confirm the wiring can support separate control of the fan and the light if you want it.
Can you add recessed lights without attic access?
Often, yes. Slim LED fixtures need very little space above the ceiling. Some small openings may be needed to run the wire.
Do you install fixtures I bought myself?
Yes. Check that they are listed by a recognized testing lab, such as UL or ETL, and rated for the location, especially outdoors and in bathrooms.
Why do my LED lights flicker on a dimmer?
Usually because the dimmer is not made for LED loads. Replacing it with a compatible dimmer solves it in most cases.
